Installation of new high compression head:
1) Wash machine throughly so no foreign objects find their way into your motor.
2) Remove cooling covers from cylinder.
3) Take the four cylinder head nuts off and remove cylinder head.
4) Clean gasket surface and try not to break base gasket seal at base of cylinder, it is not necessary to remove cylinder.
5) Install new head and gasket, be sure to locate flange into cylinder before torqueing head. Torque head 16 to 18 foot lbs. using criss cross pattern to tightened head.
6) After head is on and torqued, check squish with a piece of thick solder. Bend in an "L" shape and insert solder thru spark plug hole, so it will be in line above the piston pin, 90 degrees from intake or exhaust. This measurement should be no less than .045". Also check compression, compression above 150 PSI will require race gas, 104 octane or better. We do not recommend ever running fixed compression above 175 PSI.
6a) Note: Compression may be adjusted with use of additional head gaskets, stack no more than three head gaskets under the cylinder head.
7) After the squish and compression is checked and correct, reinstall the cooling covers. Test ride and check jetting. The higher compression may require more fuel
